This was written for psp 9 but will work in other versions.

Eye Candy 5 Impact - Chrome

Fonts of your choice

I used
Decorative Elements JL font - Download here.
Drumag-Studio-NF - available here.
A Script font of your choice. I used Inspiration which is a pay font so I cannot supply.

A tube of your choice.
I am using the wonderful art of Rachael Huntington. You can purchase a license to use her work from CILM.

Open the tube in PSP. Open the fonts and minimize them.


Ok we are ready to start.

Step 1:

Open a new image 600x600 and flood fill with white.
Select your text tool and using the Decorative elements JL font with the following settings, type out a capital E.
Vector checked, Foreground = Black, Stroke = 2, Background = Dark colour from your tube, Text size = 100.
Go to Objects - Align - Horizontal in Canvas.
Use your nodes to pull it down a bit at the bottom.
Convert to raster layer.
Duplicate this layer and go to Image - Flip.
Use your mover tool to move them into position as seen in screen shot below.


Hide your background layer and merge visible.
Rename this layer Noise. Unhide your background layer.

Change your background to a light colour from your tube.
Change the font size to 150, keep all other settings the same and type out a capital B.
Go to Image - Rotate with the settings shown below.


Use your nodes to stretch it out to the width of the first shapes and move it up a bit at the bottom. Refer to my tag if you need to.
Go to Objects - Align - Center in Canvas.
Convert to raster layer and rename Xero.


Step 2:

Click on the Noise layer to activate it.
Select your magic wand with the settings shown below


Click inside the top left oval in the noise shape.
Go to Selections - Modify - Expand by 3.
Add a new Raster layer and name it Chrome. Fill the selection with white.
Go to Effects - Eye Candy 5 Impact - Chrome and under settings choose Metal Sharp Corners.
Click ok to apply an Deselect.
Move the Chrome layer beneath your noise layer.

Select your magic wand with the same settings as above.
Click inside the top right oval in the noise shape.
Selections - Modify - Expand by 3.
Click on the Chrome layer in your layer palette to activate it.
Fill the selection with white.
Apply the same Eye Candy 5 Impact - Chrome effect and Deselect.

Repeat these steps for the other 2 ovals.
You must do these one at a time otherwise the effect will not look right.
On the Chrome layer go to Selections - Select All - Float. Selectons - Modify - Contract by 12.
Add a new Raster layer and flood fill with the light colour from your tube.
Lower the Opacity to 24 and Deselect.
Hide all layers apart from the Chrome layer and the reduced Opacity layer and merge those visible.
Rename Chrome and unhide all layers.


Step 3:

Click on the Xero layer in the layer palette to activate it and copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Position it to the left and Duplicate. Go to Image - Mirror.
Move into postition. Refer to my tag as a guide if you need to.
On the copy of tube layer add the following Drop Shadow.
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = -4
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black

Click on the original tube layer and add the following Drop Shadow.
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = 4
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black

Hide all layers apart from the 2 tube layers.
Merge these visible and rename Tube. Unhide the other layers.


Step 4:

On your layer palette click on your Xero layer to activate it.
Go to Selections - Select all - Float. Selectons - Modify - Contract by 2.
Go to Effects - Xero Fritillary with the settings shown below.


Deselect and add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = 4
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black


Step 5:

On your layer palette click on your Noise layer to activate it.
Duplicate it twice.
Go back to your original Noise layer and go to Selections - Select all - Float. Selectons - Modify - Contract by 2.
Go to Effects - DSB Flux Bright Noise. Set the Intensity to 30. Click on Mix once.
DO NOT deselect.

Click on the first copy and apply Noise again but click on Mix twice.
DO NOT deselect.

Click on the second copy and apply Noise again but click on Mix three times.
Deselect.

Apply the same Drop Shadow we used on the Xero layer to all 3 Noise layers.


Step 6:

Click on your Tube layer to activate it.
Select your Text tool, Vector checked.
Set your Foreground to the light colour we used on the xero layer and the Background to Black.
Set the font to Drumag-Studio-NF, Stroke = 2, Font size = 72 and type your name.
Use your nodes to stretch it out and then go to Objects - Align - Horizontal in Canvas.
Convert to Raster layer.
Add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = -4
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black

Change your font to the script font you want to use.
Set your Foreground and Background to the light colour from your tube.
Set the Stroke to 1 and leave Vector checked.
The settings I used are below but this will vary depending on what font you use.
I used Inspiration, size = 60, Bold selected, Kerning = 75.
Go to Objects - Align - Horizontal in Canvas.
Convert to Raster layer and add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = -2
Opacity = 89
Blur = 2
Colour = Black


Step 7:

Click on your Xero layer to activate it.
Select your Preset Shapes and choose Circle. Set your Foreground to Null and your Background to White.
Draw a small circle to fit in the center column of the Xero layer.
Convert to Raster layer and apply the same Eye Candy 5 Impact Chrome settings we used earlier.
Add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical = -1
Horizontal = -4
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black

Duplicate this shape and move it below the first one.

Add your watermark and the artists copyright.
Hide your background layer and crop to size.
Resize if needed making sure ALL layers is checked.
Unhide the background layer.


Step 8:

Open Animation Shop.
In PSP hide the 2 copies of the Noise layer.
Go to Edit - Copy Merged and paste as a New Animation in Animation Shop.

Back in PSP, hide Noise and unhide the first copy of Noise.
Go to Edit - Copy Merged and paste after Animation in Animation Shop.

Back in PSP, hide copy of Noise and unhide the second copy of Noise.
Go to Edit - Copy Merged and in Animation Shop click on Frame 2 to activate it and paste after Animation in Animation Shop.

Go to Edit - Select All and set your Frame Properties to 10.
Save as a .gif.
