Eye Candy 4000
- HSB Noise and Water Drops

A Font of your choice
I used House Holiday font which is a pay font so I cannot supply.

A Tube of your Choice.
I am using the excellent artwork of Deacon Black. You can purchase a license to use his work from CILM.

Ok we are ready to start.

REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN

You can drag this arrow down the page with you to keep your place in the tut.
Script provided by Dynamic Drive.

Step 1:

Open a new 600 x 500 transparent image and flood fill with white.
Select two colours from your tube. I used a lighter skin tone for the Background and a dark red for the Foreground.
Select your Preset Shapes tool - Line width = 2.
Draw out a fairly large rectangle to suit the size of your tube, see my tag for guidance.
Go to Objects - Align - Center in Canvas and then convert to Raster layer.
Copy your tube then select your Magic Wand with the following settings.
Mode - Add/Shift, Match Mode - RGB Value, Tolerance and Feather - 0.
Click inside the shape and then paste your tube as a new layer into the canvas.
When you are happy with the positioning of the tube, go to Selections - Invert and then press your Delete button on your keyboard. This will get rid of any excess tube which is outside of your shape. Go to Selections - Select None.
Add the following Drop Shadow to your tube
Vertical & Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 80
Blur = 20
Colour = White

Step 2:

Activate your Rectangle Shape layer and using your magic wand, click inside the shape again.
Go to Effects - Texture Effects then select Blinds with the following settings.
Width - 6, Opacity - 100, Colour - Black, Horizontal and Light from Left/Right ticked.
While still selected reapply Blinds but this time untick the Horizontal box. Click on ok. You now have your dotted background.
Selections - Select None.
While still on the shape layer add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical & Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 80
Blur = 10
Colour = Black

Step 3:

Select your Preset Shapes tool again, still on Rectangle and draw out a rectangle along the top of the main rectangle. See tag for guidance.
Go to Objects - Align - Horizontal in Canvas and convert to Raster Layer.
Apply the same Blinds effects and Drop Shadow as before.
Duplicate this layer and go to Image - Flip.

Still on Rectangle, draw out a rectangle along the side of the main rectangle. See tag for guidance.
Go to Objects - Align - Vertical in Canvas and convert to Raster Layer.
Apply the same Blinds effects as before.
Duplicate this layer and go to Image - Mirror.
Right Click on the duplicate layer in the Layer Palette and choose Merge Down.
This is merge the two Vertical bars into one.

To get your Water Drops on the side bars go to Effects - Eye Candy Water Drops with the settings shown below. You may need to adjust the Drop size depending on the size of your Side Bars.

Drop shadow the Top and Side bars with the following settings
Vertical & Horizontal = 0
Opacity = 80
Blur = 10
Colour = Black

Now to do the lines around the rectangles.
Select your Preset Shapes on Rectange but this time set your Background to Null, Line style - Diamond, Line width - 2.
Draw a rectangle around the main rectangle and go to Objects - Align - Center in Canvas. Then using the above tag as guidance erase some of the dots around the shape, either using your Selections tool or the Eraser.
I did a second line in a different colour.

Add the artists copyright details and your name.
You could either save the tag as it is now, or continue onto the animation.

Step 4: Animation

Activate your Side bars and go to Effects - Eye Candy - HSB Noise with the following settings:
Hue Variation: 25, Saturation Variation: 25, Brightness Variation: 40, Opacity Variation: 0, Lump Width: 10.08, Lump Height: 10.08, Pattern: Smooth Lumps.
Now to the animation on the main shape behind the tube.
Select your main shape, then using your Selection Tool set on Rectangle, Add/Shift, Feather: 0 draw out a smallish rectangle, see animation above for basic size, then apply Eye Candy HSB Noise with the same settings.
Select none.
Go to Edit - Copy Merged.
Over to animation shop: Paste as new animation.

Back to psp Edit Undo until all of the HSB Noise effects are gone and you're back on your side bars (with no HSB Noise effect on it).
Repeat the above instructions for applying the HSB Noise for your side bars, but hit the random seed button this time.
On your main Rectangle layer draw out another selection, slightly further down than the other and apply the HSB Noise.
Select none.
Go to Edit - Copy Merged.

Back in animation shop: Edit - Paste after Current Frame.

Repeat the animation effects until your selected area in the main Rectangle reaches the bottom. I did 5 seperate selections on the above tag.

While still in animation shop go to Edit - Select All - Copy then paste this as a new animation.
Edit - Select All - Animation - Reverse Frames. Edit Copy.
Back to your original animation click on the last frame. Edit - Paste after Current Frame.
We need to slow down the animation a bit so make sure all frames are selected and go to: Animation - Frame Properties and change the number to: 17.

Save your tag and you're finished.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
