Metallic Silver Gradient
This gradient comes with PSP but I have supplied it for those versions of PSP that do not have it.
Download HERE and place in your psp Gradients folder.
A Font of your choice
I used House Holiday font for the name which is a pay font so I cannot supply.
I used Arial font for the copyright.
An Image of your Choice.
I am using the excellent artwork of Lorenzo Sperlonga. You can purchase a license to use his work
from CILM.
Ok we are ready to start.
REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN
You can drag this arrow down the page with you to keep your place in the tut.
Script provided by Dynamic Drive.
Step 1:
Open a new 600 x 500 transparent image and flood fill with white.
If this seems too big a size, you can always resize at the end of the tutorial. For the time being, its good to have the extra space to create in.
Select an image of choice and go to Edit - Copy. You can now minimise the image.
Activate your Preset Shapes tool set on Ellipse with the following settings.
Line Width: 5 - Foreground: A light colour from your tube, I used was: #FBDAA5 - Background: Null
Draw out an oval about 220 x 205 pixels - see below. It doesn't have to be exact.
If you look at the bottom left of your PSP tray you will see small numbers that move as you draw the shape.
You only need to concentrate on the ones circled in red.

When you are happy with the size go to Objects - Align - Centre in Canvas.
Convert to Raster Layer.
Activate your Magic Wand - Tolerance and Feather: 0 and click inside the oval.
Now go to Selections - Modify - Expand: 3.
Go to Edit - Paste as a New Layer (the image we copied earlier should still be in your clipboard.
Move the image to your desired position. When happy with the positioning click on Selections - Invert - then press the Delete key on the keyboard.
Move this layer below your circle outline.
Go to Selections - Select None.
Activate your Preset Shapes tool again still on Ellipse with the following settings.
Line Width: 3 - Foreground: Metallic Silver Gradient - Background: Null.
Draw an oval either side of the first oval you drew. Use the guides below to help you.
Once you have drawn an oval to the sizes below go to Objects - Align - Centre in Canvas.
Convert each one to a raster layer after centering.
Oval 1

Oval 2

Add the following Drop Shadow to both of the gradient ovals.
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black
Step 2:
Back to your Preset Shapes with the same settings:
Line Width: 3 - Foreground: Metallic Silver Gradient - Background: Null.
Draw out another oval outline using the side guide below.

Once happy with the size go to Objects - Align - Centre in Canvas and then convert to Raster layer.
Click inside this oval with your Magic Wand - same settings as before.
Go to Selections - Modify - Expand: 2.
Your image should still be in your clipboard but you can always copy it again.
Go to Edit - Paste as New Layer and move the image to the desired position.
Go to Selections - Invert and press Delete on the keyboard.
Move this layer down so it is the layer above the white background layer.
Go to Selections - Select none.
Now go to Adjust - Blur - Gaussian Blur: 10.
Step 3:
Click on your white background layer to activate it.
Activate your Preset Shapes tool set to Rectangle with the following settings:
Line width: 3 - Foreground: Metallic Silver Gradient - Background: Null.
Draw out a rectangle to your desired size or use the guide below.

Once you are happy with the size convert to a Raster layer.
With your Magic Wand - same settings as before - click inside the rectangle. Go to Selections - Modify - Expand: 2.
Your image should still be in your clipboard so go to Edit - Paste as New Layer.
Move into the desired position. When happy with the positioning go to Selections - Invert and click Delete on the keyboard.
Move this layer below the rectangle outline layer.
Selections - Select None.
Now you have a choice to make, which will all depend on the image you use.
If you are happy with the look of the tag so far then go to Effects - PlugIns - Filters Unlimited 2 and apply the Paper Textures: Canvas - Fine with these settings: Intensity: 156 - Lightness: 87.
Click on Apply.
If the look of the two images together doesnt look quite right then you can blur the background image by going to Adjust - Blur - Gaussian Blur: 10.
Then apply the Filters Unlimited 2 as above.
Step 4:
Click on the white background layer to activate it.
Using the Preset Shapes tool set on Ellipse with the following settings:
Foreground: Metallic Silver Gradient - Background: Null - Line Width: 3.
Draw out the wider Oval to whatever size you want or use the guide below.

Go to Objects - Align - Center In Canvas and convert to a Raster layer.
Click inside this ellipse with your Magic Wand. Go to Selections - Modify - Expand: 2.
Your image should still be in your clipboard so go to Edit - Paste as New Layer.
Position the image in the left side of the ellipse to your desired position.
When happy with the positioning go to Selections - Invert then click Delete on the keyboard.
Do NOT Deselect.
Move this layer below your silver outline layer.
Go to Selections - Invert.
Now you have a choice.
You can either paste the image already into your clipboard as a new layer or you can go to the original image and mirror it before going to Edit - Copy and then pasting the mirrored image as a new layer.
Position the image in the right side of the ellipse to your desired position.
When happy with the positioning of the image go to Selections - Invert then click Delete on the keyboard.

Softness: 50 - Strength: 128 - Brightness: 128 - Red Channel: 0 - Green Channel: 0 - Blue Channel: 255
Duplicate this newly merged image layer and move below the original merged layer in the layer palette.
Go to Image - Resize. I resized mine by 650 pixels or 108%. Make sure ALL Layers is UNchecked.
Go to Adjust - Blur - Gaussian Blur: 10.
Add the following Drop Shadow to your Rectangle and the 2 larger Oval Metallic outlines.
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black
Step 5:
Click on the top layer to activate it.
To do the silver corner rivets use your Preset Shapes set on Ellipse with the following settings:
Foreground: Null - Background: Metallic Silver Gradient with the style set to Radial - Angle and Repeat: o.
Draw out a small rivet. Once happy with the size convert to a raster layer and move into position.
Add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Colour = Black
Duplicate this layer and go to Image - Mirror.
Duplicate this layer and go to Image - Flip.
Duplicate this layer and go to Image - Mirror.
Select your white background layer and click on the little eye to hide it temporarily.
Select your Crop Tool, and select the merged opaque option from the top toolbar.
Double click inside the square formed by the merge option. This will crop your tag precisely, so as not to cut off any part of it.
Unhide the white background layer.
Finally add your name using a font of your choice.
Add all your copyright details and watermark, and you're finished!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
