This was written for PSP 9 but will work in other versions.

For this tutorial you will need
Paint Shop Pro

A plain Font of your Choice

I am using Arial Black.

A tube of your choice

Step 1:

Open a new image 650 x 550 pixels. Flood fill with white. Set this aside for now.
Open a new image 160 x 160 pixels. Flood fill with black.
Go to Selections - Modify - Contract by 12 and hit delete on your keyboard.
Go to Image - Canvas size - 180 x 180 - Align Center.
Go to Selections - Select all - Float - Modify - Expand by 3.
Add a new Raster layer and fill this with a bright colour from your render or background image.
Deselect and move this layer below your black square.
Merge All Visible.
Select your Magic Wand and click inside the blank area in the middle of your square.
Go to Selections - Modify - Expand by 3.
Add a new Raster layer and fill with Black. Deselect.
Go to Layers - Arrange - Send to Bottom. Merge Visible.


Step 2:

Copy and paste the square as a new layer on your white canvas and position towards the top of your canvas.
Duplicate twice for a total of 3 squares and line them up along the top of the canvas. Use my tag as a guide.
Hide the white background layer and merge visible.
Rename Squares and unhide the background layer.
Select your text tool with the following settings:
Font: Arial Black - Size: 110 - Stroke: 3 - Foreground: the same colour you used on your black square - Background: Black.
Type a capital H and position it in the center of the left square. Convert to Raster layer.
Type a capital O and position it in the center of the middle box.
Type a capital T and position it in the center of the right box.
Hide the white background layer and the Squares layer and merge all the letters visible. Unhide all layers.
Select your Magic Wand with the following settings:
Mode: Add/Shift - Match Mode: RGB Value - Tolerance: 10 - Feather: 0
Click inside the black part of each letter (In earlier versions of PSP hold down your Shift key to select all).
Once they are selected add a new Raster layer. Copy your render/ background image and paste into Selection. Deselect.
On the layer palette right click on the top layer and merge down. Merge down again until you just have the background layer and the Squares layer.
Resize the Squares layer by 90%, Bicubic selected.


Step 3:

Activate your background layer.
Select your Preset Shapes - Rectangle - Foreground: Null - Background: Black - Vector selected.
Draw out a black rectangle approximately 550 x 200 pixels.
Position it so it starts about halfway down the squares.
Go to Objects - Align - Horizontal Center in Canvas and then convert to Raster layer.


Step 4:

Activate your background layer again.
Still on Preset Shapes - Rectangle - Line Width: 4 - Foreground: Black - Background: Null draw out another rectangle approximately 610 x 200.
Move it down so the top of the rectangle is just behind the black rectangle.
Go to Objects - Align - Horizontal Center in Canvas and then convert to Raster layer.
Select your deform tool


Whilst holding down your Ctrl key click on one of the top corners of the rectangle. Move it inwards until it lines up with the edges of the black rectangle.
Select your Magic Wand, same settings as before and click inside the bottom Rectangle.
Go to Selections - Modify - Expand by 2.
Add a new Raster layer and move it below the rectangle. Copy your render/ background image and go to Edit - Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.


Step 5:

Select your Text tool Font: Arial Black - Size: 130 - Stroke: 1 - Foreground: Black - Background: Black and type 'HOT'.
Position in the center of the bottom rectangle and use your nodes to stretch the width to fit the rectangle.
Hold down the Ctrl key and move in one of the top corners again.
Convert to Raster layer and change the blend mode to Overlay.


Step 6:

Click on the top Squares layer to activate it.
Select your text tool with the following settings.
Font: Arial Black - Size: 72 - Stroke: 2 - Foreground: The bright colour you used for your Squares edging - Background: Black
Type out your name, all in capital letters.
Use your nodes to stretch it to fit in the black rectangle.
Convert to Raster layer and rename Name.
Select your Magic Wand with the same settings we used earlier and click inside the black area of each of the letters.
Add a new Raster layer and go to Edit - Paste into Selection (your render/ background image should still be in your clipboard). Deselect.
Right click on the top layer on the Layer Palette and Merge Down.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and resize it to fit.
Add a Drop Shadow of your choice, I used Lokas 3D Shadow.
Resize your tag, add the artists copyright and your watermark.
Hide the white background layer and crop to size.
Unhide the background and save.
