This was written for psp 9 but will work in other versions.

For this tutorial you will need

Paint Shop Pro
Xenofex 2 - Burnt Edges
Xero Improver - Optional

My Supplies
Download Here.
This includes the Grunge Texture by Mz Kels, my Postage Stamp Brush and My Postcard Lines.
Place the Grunge Texture in your PSP Textures folder. Install my Brush in PSP and open the Postcard Lines in PSP.

2 Fonts of your choice.
I used Saginaw for the Postcard text. Download Here.
I used Miss Lankfort for the name. This is a pay font so I am unable to supply.


A tube of your choice.
I am using the wonderful art of Jennifer Janesko.
You can purchase a license to use her work from CILM.

Ok we are ready to start.

Step 1:

Open a new transparent image 545 x 400.
Fill with a medium colour from your tube. I used #1969A7.
Add a new raster layer.
Change your Foreground to white and select your texture button. Set your texture to the dbmgrunge11.png as shown below.


Fill the new layer with your white texture. I filled mine twice but it depends on how you want it to look.
Merge all visible.
Go to Effects - Xenofex 2 - Burnt Edges and apply it with the following settings.
Change the colour to suit your tag.




Step 2:

Change your Foreground to Black, Background Null and select your Draw/Pen tool with the following settings.


Hold down your Shift key so you get a straight line and draw a Vertical line about 330 pixels high.
Go to Objects - Align - Centre in Canvas and then convert to a raster layer.
Add a new raster layer and select my Postage Stamp Brush.
Apply it in the top right hand corner. I lowered the opacity of my brush layer to 80.
Copy and paste my Postcard Lines as a new layer and move into position underneath the postage stamp. Use my tag as a guide.
Merge all visible.


Step 3:

Select your Shapes tool set to Rectangle.
Set your Foreground to black, Background null and line width 5.
Draw out a rectangle on the left side of the postcard approximately 248 x 329 pixels in size.
Go to Objects - Align - Vertical in Canvas.
Convert to raster layer.
Go to Selections - Select All - Float - Selections - Modify - Contract by 1.
Fill with white.
Deselect.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and resize to fit. (I resized mine by 65% Bicubic selected).
Move the tube layer below the frame layer.
Add the following Drop Shadow to your tube
Vertical = -5
Horizontal = -5
Opacity = 35
Blur = 5
Colour = Black

Select your Magic Wand - Tolerance 10 - Feather 0 and click inside the rectangle.
Go to Selections - Modify - Expand by 3 - Selections - Invert.
Activate the tube layer and press Delete on the keyboard.
Deselect.

(Optional) Still on your tube layer apply Xero Improver with the following settings




Step 4:

Select your Text Tool and add whatever text you want to the lines on your postcard.
Type one line of text at a time so that you can position it on the lines.
I used Saginaw - Size 20 - Foreground and Background set to White.

When the text is done hide all the other layers and merge your text layers visible.
Add the following Drop Shadow
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 1
Opacity = 45
Blur = 2
Colour = Black

Unhide all layers.

Change your Foreground and Background to a darker colour from your tube and add your name to the bottom of the text.
I used Miss Lankfort.

Add the artists copyright and your watermark and merge all visible and save.
