PLEASE NOTE: None of my tutorials or Scrap Kits are allowed to be used for tags being bought by My PSP Tubes or for any other form of monetary gain. This goes against the artists TOU that I use for my tuts and against my TOU.
For this tutorial you will need
Paint Shop Pro
Animation Shop
Eye Candy 4000
Fonts of your choice
I used Hurricane Swash and Epcot Center which are pay fonts so I cannot supply.
An Image of your Choice.
If you don't have an image, use a tube, add a pale background and merge visible.
I am using the excellent artwork of Selina Fenech. You can purchase a license to use her
work from CILM.
Ok we are ready to start.
REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN
You can drag this arrow down the page with you to keep your place in the tut.
Script provided by Dynamic Drive.
Step 1:
Open a new canvas 600x500 and flood fill with white.
Select the image you want to use and resize if necessary.
Go to Image - Add Border with the following settings.
Colour = Black, Size = 1, Symmetric ticked.
Add another border, this time change the Width to 6 and the colour to White.
Click on the white border with your Magic Wand - Tolerance 0 - Feather 0 and flood fill with a metallic silver gradient.
Deselect.
Finally add another border, changing the Width to 1 and the colour to Black.
Copy and paste the newly bordered image on to your blank canvas.
DO NOT close the original as we will need it later.
Step 2:
Select your Preset Shapes set on Rectangle - Line Width 2 - Foreground set to Metallic Silver Gradient - Background set to any colour.
Draw out a narrow vertical bar the same height as your main image to line up at the side of the main image.
Go to Objects - Align - Vertical Center in Canvas.
Convert to Raster Layer.
Click on the inner of the vertical bar with your Magic Wand - Tolerance and Feather at 0.
Copy and paste your chosen image (the one you saved from earlier) into the bar, as a new layer.
When you are happy with the positioning, click on Selections - Invert - and press Delete on the keyboard (to get rid of any excess image outside of the vertical bar).
Deselect. See above tag for guide.
Right click on the top Image layer in the layer Palette and Merge Down to merge the Vertical Bar and the image selection.
Duplicate this layer and Mirror.
Move the bars one each side of the main image.
Step 3:
Back to your Preset Shapes to do the two horizontal bars at the top and bottom of the tag.
Draw out a thin rectangle at the top of your image with background colour set on metallic silver gradient.
Make sure it is wider than the tag.
Go to Objects - Align - Horizontal Center in Canvas.
Convert to Rster Layer.
When you are happy with the size and positioning go to Effects - Eye Candy 4000 and use the Chrome function on the default settings.
Duplicate and go to Image - Flip.
Step 4:
Now to do the images in the circles.
Back to your Preset Shapes, this time set on Ellipse.
Set your Foreground to a Metallic Gold Gradient and your Background to any colour. We will be inserting the image into it so the colour won't matter.
With the Line Width on 2 draw out a small circle.
Using your Magic Wand click in the centre of the circle.
Copy and paste your image as a new layer and position to your liking.
When you are happy with the positioning click on Selections - Invert then hit the delete button.
Deselect.
Right click on the top Image layer in the layer Palette and Merge Down to merge the Circle and the image selection.
Do the same with another circle, and use a different part of the image. For positioning see tag as guide.
Add your name and the artists copyright details. I also inserted the wording 'Her Special Place'.
NOTE: Leave your name off if you intend to make the tag for others. We can add the name in the animation stage.
The non animated part of this tutorial is now finished so if you don't want to animate, crop to size and save.
Step 5: - Animation
Whilst still in PSP use your Move tool to move each of the vertical bars to the centre of the image, so they're covering a portion of the main image. Watch the animation on my tag and you'll see the idea.
Use the two horizontal bars as an easier way to line the two vertical images correctly.
Go to Edit - Copy Merged.
Over in Animation Shop - Right click the mouse and Paste as New Animation.
Back in PSP move the two bars slightly further out go to Edit - Copy Merged again.
Over in Animation Shop go to Edit - Paste - After Current Frame.
Back over to PSP.
Repeat the moving bars and Animation Shop steps again. Keep doing this till your vertical bars reach the end of the horizontal bars.
Step 6:
When you've pasted your final frame in Animation Shop click on the first frame and click on Edit - Select All - then on - Edit - Copy.
Right click the mouse on a blank part of the screen and click on Paste as New Animation.
Go to Edit - Select All then click on Animation - Reverse Frames then click on Edit - Copy.
Now you can minimise or close that animation.
Back on your original animation, making sure you're on the final frame click on Edit - Insert After Current Frame and your reversed frames will be inserted.
This will give the effect of opening and closing sliding doors.
Step 7:
If you had left your name out up to this point go back to PSP and add your name as a new layer then copy it and go back over to Animation Shop.
Go to Edit - Paste as New Animation.
Go back to your main Image and go to Edit - Select All.
In the tool bar at the top click on the Propergate Paste Icon.
Click on the name and go to Edit - Copy then back to the main image making sure All Frames are still selected and go to Edit - Paste into Selection.
I ended up with 15 frames in total but how many you have depends on how often you moved the vertical bars.
I set the first frame at a speed of 100. The frame where the vertical bars are at their furthest apart set to 200and set the rest to 30.
To change the animation speed click on Edit - Select None then click on the frame you want to change the speed of.
Click on Animation - Frame Properties and enter the new number in there, then click OK.
To see your finished animation, click on View - Animation.
Now to save your completed tag go to File - Save As then let Animation Shop do its work and save your tag.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
